Dental nerve treatment. When a cavity reaches the nerve, we save your tooth.

When a cavity is so deep that it affects the dental nerve, the treatment required is root canal therapy. What we do is clean the cavity, remove the damaged nerve and thoroughly disinfect the entire interior of the tooth.
After applying local anesthesia, we access the interior of the tooth to remove the affected nerve. The interior is disinfected and sealed to prevent future infections.
Then the tooth is reconstructed using an inlay or a crown depending on how damaged the tooth was. Mission accomplished! Tooth saved.

It is necessary when a cavity has advanced so far that it has reached the dental nerve, causing intense pain, extreme sensitivity to cold or heat, or infection. In these cases, root canal treatment is the way to save the tooth and avoid extraction.
